Ingrid Summerfield Memorial Classroom

“Celebrate and honor Ingrid‘s memory by supporting this opportunity for young women. Ingrid mentored, encouraged, and through her generous spirit, empowered many to unlock life‘s possibilities. Daraja reflects Ingrid’s passionate dedication to helping others find their potential. Creating a classroom for girls in her memory would make her smile.”

— Ron Hartman

Daraja Academy is a high school for smart, driven Kenyan girls whose education would have stopped after the eighth grade because of their families’ lack of financial resources. Daraja’s students go through a transformative, four-year period of growth within the classroom. They receive the education they deserve and attend W.I.S.H. (Women of Integrity, Strength and Hope) classes, the school’s empowerment curriculum.

Daraja is more than a school; it is an incubator for social change. Today, alumni are helping their communities, working as nurses, teachers, engineers and business women. They see themselves as a part of the solution to their communities’ problems.

And it all started in the classroom.

Will you help celebrate Ingrid’s memory and create an inspirational classroom that will impact the world?
