Daraja Girls on the National Stage
By Jessica Bundage
This week, the Daraja girls are taking their talents to the national stage.
Sophia N. (Form 2) will be traveling to Kakamega, located in the Western part of Kenya, to participate in the National Music and Drama Competition. She will be performing Spoken Word Poetry about the need for Kenya to vote for good leaders during this election year (the Presidential election is only a few weeks away!). This will be Sophia’s fourth year competing at Nationals. She also competed during grades 6-8, where she placed 2nd. We wish Sophia the best of luck!
Also taking the national stage is the Daraja Rugby team, who recently competed in the National Rugby Tournament in Kisi – a first for Daraja! Along with another high school, the Daraja team represented Laikipia County against high school rugby teams from across the country.
We are so proud of all the girls representing Daraja, both in their communities and nationally!
