I am a Smart Ghetto Girl

Spending your life in a Ghetto is the most enjoyable life to have ever spent. I come from Mukuru Kwa Mjenga in Nairobi. So far, so good. I have always been there since my childhood and now I am a teenager.

Housing in a slum is cheaper, easier and readily available, but, despite of all that, the houses are extremely small and houses are closely compacted to each other. Worst of all those houses are made of iron sheets and, because you’re always indoor, its extremely hot in the daytime and extremely cold at night.

Sincerely speaking, the environment is polluted all around as people throw dirt everywhere. There are ditches everywhere, so people don’t struggle to dispose their waste in a specific place. Despite the ditches,  you can be sure that we take clean water and, of course, cook the sweetest food simply because inside homes it is always clean.

Wow, the things I like the most about ghetto kids is that when it comes to dance, they do it vigorously regardless of gender, age and financial factors.  And, interestingly, you will find the most handsome boys and beautiful girls that love each other like a family regardless of religion and tribal diversity.

The ghetto is among the tourist attractions in Kenya, as Kibera is the second largest slum in the world. It adds revenue to the country. Kids from this place work smart in their studies, and luckily they get sponsorship from all over, and each day they go back to help their sisters and brothers. In Kenya the best actors and actresses, the famous and loved musicians, comedians and dancers are from this place called the Ghetto. People always tend to see the negative side of slums about poverty, but no need to worry now that I have revealed to you our positive secret.
