Music has always been within us, around us, amongst us even high above the clouds, the sky, the galaxy. It is arranged in a way that is pleasant. Do you know that everyone is a musician? Let me explain, your own life is a natural music, with no alterations. Have you ever tried to write down the events that have happened in your life and found a tune to it? Just try and you will come up with the best music. It will be motivational and will change some people’s lives.
Have you ever tried to listen to a bird’s chirp on quiet summer days? It’s just so beautiful, so life-filling than no other sound. Well at my school, Daraja, there are a lot of different birds. All of them so beautiful yet so different from each other. They have different varieties of beaks, claws and colours. When they all sing very early in the morning, they have a voice so powerful that you know it’s time to wake up. Yes, that’s what our music can do. It makes people know what to do. Fight for their dreams, recapture love that is lost, show the end of pain etc. Our music can rub off bitter past for a better future. Let me give you an example with a-mouse bird. This bird is really hated by farmers for it is a crop pest. It feeds on grain or fruit that is ready for harvest. Yet, when it sings, the voice sometimes is pitiful that we stop working to listen to it. Yes, music gives you attention and…respect.
If you know you are in love, read through this part carefully and with no hurry. It is not once that our feelings have been hurt by those we love. It is not once that we have acted like strangers to people whom we once thought we could not live without. Yet life must go on. In such circumstances, people run to music. They express their feelings of love, hatred or anger using music. Some sing to each while others send romantic songs to each other. This might earn forgiveness and a reunion. Sometimes, this may take long and on other times it may not work out.
Music is a good remedy for a troubled soul. It helps to remove any feelings of fear or hatred. It makes us appreciate ourselves and other people. Sometimes music heals but leaves a scar in place of the wound. This scar is always a constant reminder of our past days as we try to live through our new beginning to a brighter future. Music also acts as an encouraging factor. “Even if time may take us into different places, I will still be patient with you.” These are words from Justin Bieber’s song, “Cold Water.” I will never give up. I will always be there with you, for you. It does not matter when, what matters is ‘forever to the end.’
Listen to a baby as it learns to say its first words. They might be ‘Mama’ or ‘Papa.’ However, these simple words make a parent happy. It is music to their ears to hear them make these first attempts. Sometimes, hearing them laugh is like the gurgling of water. The beginning of new life. If you have watched Lion King, Simba and his friend will tell you ‘Hakuna Matata’ (No worries).
