Our goal is to raise enough money for 10 fully stocked backpacks for Daraja girls. A fully stocked backpack includes everything she needs to safely thrive in the classroom: masks, hand sanitizer, pens, pencils, notebooks, a calculator, a geometry set, a Covid-19 kit, AND the backpack to carry it all in. Help her get back to class with all the tools she needs to thrive.

We will take checks made out to “Daraja Education Fund” dropped off with Kathy Gonzalez in the English Department at Woodside Priory.

Daraja Academy in Kenya provides an exemplary secondary education to girls who have no other means to attend school. They are girls who—despite their circumstances—earn high grades in primary school, give back to their communities, and demonstrate leadership. They show courage and kindness when faced with adversity. They are the kind of girls who can disrupt the cycle of poverty and act as champions of equality if only given the chance. One day, we hope that every girl will receive the education she needs to better her life, her community, and her world.
