Baragoi: My Area

I live in the northern part of Kenya, called Baragoi. It is a cool place but rarely rains. I come from a semi-arid area full of sweet homesteads. Our area has lots of acacia trees and cactus trees. This signifies that it is really dry. My area is far from Nanyuki. It has few number of population. People there live without peace due to cattle restling between the Samburu and the Turkana who are common in that area. We go about 12km to look for pasture for our animals.
Despite of those all, I love our area so much, because I have good friends who are very friendly and understanding. We keep lots of cattles, camels, and goats in our area. We swim in the river when it rains. We also live like big families since we have many neighbors. Our area is sparsely populated and we look very few. We sometimes experience war periods where we have to run away and then back after the war is over, but we are used to it. I love my area with passion.
