Politics
It was true when Aristotle said, “man is by nature a political animal.” However, in this generation, man is preoccupied with policies and not politics. I believe that politics with policies would bring about a better man.
In the recent years, different countries have been experiencing political instability and the question remains … why? I see that this problem is due to politics without policies. This is also brought about by greed among our politicians who I think should be called rhetoricians, for they are good at spreading rhetoric.
I do not mean to be abusive, but the truth had better be said, however bitter it is. A politician these days is a person who tells us what we already know, and what we have been hearing for years. A politician is one who knows our problems thoroughly, but cannot afford a solution. This means they function as rhetoricians rather than politicians.
Politics with policies bring about plans for a better society and for a better people. Sometimes being a leader or a politician does not mean you have the best actions or you are perfect. It means much more than that. It means that the words you speak to people are words of hope, and words that show concern, and words that bring about unity.
I want this to be a lesson to our politicians that when you get into power, it does not mean you are the best. Neither does it mean that the other candidates are inferior. The best thinkers do not only use their ideas to create, they use the ideas of others. The best politicians use not only their ideas to bring development but also other people’s ideas.
I want this to be a turning point for our politicians. I want the world to know that political mathematics needs a formula and the formula is right within our reach. The formula is none other than good policies plus planning, which equals development.
