Recent Scientific Discoveries
With technology, our world is becoming smaller and smaller everyday. New things are emerging and new animals and techniques being discovered. Our world is becoming smaller and smaller, especially when research is done and people, I don’t know whether it is increased intelligence, are coming up with ideas that no one has ever thought of before.
There are many new, fascinating inventions that make the oceans cleaner, the Sahara greener and air cooler. The most recent invention is of a giant pool noodle that cleans up plastic in the ocean (picture featured above). It was launched on the 9th of September 2018. The project behind the building of this fascinating machine is called The Ocean Cleanup. Another fascinating development is that scientists have thought of a way of making the Sahara greener. These scientists have decided to establish solar and wind farms in the desert. This not only provides power but also changes the climate of the area, making it more green and more stabilized with animals and people. Also, there has been an invention of this CoolAir, an affordable, innovative, high-tech alternative to cool yourself. It is no bigger than a lunchbox, but it can cool yourself and your surroundings. It was developed by two engineers who got tired of preserving through punishing hot summers.
The most interesting discovery to me is the prehistoric girl whose parents were from different human species. The mother was a Neanderthal and the father was a Denisovan. It is hard to believe, but it is actually true. It shows that the Neanderthals did not die out, but were absorbed by our new species. And finally, when we say that ice is a good preserver, we are right. The discovery of mummified penguins found in Antarctica have proved so. The birds died due to extreme weather changes and were preserved for more than 200 years ago. It is amazing to know that such creatures have been long preserved.
