In Africa, we have fifty-four countries and every country has a leader who represents them in terms of everything. Being a leader takes courage and self-awareness. A leader is defined by his or her character and how he or she behaves. Not everyone who vies for a seat gets it, all is 100% dependent on what citizens of a country look at when voting in a leader.
I know that if it weren’t for corruption this country, this continent would have been so far ahead economically and even in terms of growth. I know and I believe that we are going to try to curb this problem of corruption when it is destroying Africa slowly by slowly.
This problem is at the roots it is eating Africa slowly by slowly because the roots are the things which make a tree to be seen as a tree and it ensures also upright growth which stands for: tree is Africa, roots is the unity and our uniqueness while the branches and the growth is the growth of economic, social and political aspects.
The other continents in this century consider Africans as an independent continent but before we gained our independence, how quickly things change from what Africans went through in the past including slavery and now things are changing even citizens of other country come and reside in Africa and even are given our citizenship. I bet Africans have a different perspective towards the residing of “whites” in Africa we usually think they colonizing us again, but for me, I don’t think so. I like to look at it in the future. These people have come here may be to explore and share our ideas and utilize them I bet that this country, this continent would be in a great position.
Citizens of this continent somehow tend to discriminate women who are bold enough to stand and speak up on gender equality. As we can see in Liberia her Excellency Mrs. Hellen Johnson is one of the role models whom girls look upon to. She is a good example of how women can go far even beyond her because the sky is not the limit. I believe that behind every successful man there is a woman, everyone needs each other to excel. We need to support each other so as to do a great job in this country. Some even get sleepless nights thinking on how to please their own country. When something awful happens citizens start to blame their leaders instead of trying to find what was wrong.
Let us not give our leaders a hard time. I salute any leader or any person who considers him/herself a leader for it takes one’s courage and hard work to believe in themselves. Again what a good job you always do. If I were to give a Nobel peace prize I would give all the leaders in this country.
