Corruption

Corruption! Corruption! Corruption everywhere. It is misuse of public power for private gain. Major corruption comes when there are major events involving large sums of money, multiple players, huge quantities of products, and often when disasters situations are at stake. Think of civil war or natural disasters like earthquakes, floods and droughts. The global community reacts quickly, but government might be disorganized and misguided because most of its members are corrupt.

Corruption has been a problem in developing countries because it’s leaders are greedy when it comes to getting wealthy very fast. In the process, the people suffer. Corruption occurs in very many ways, it might occur when one is applying for job opportunities he or she must pay. This ends up making skilled and poor people jobless, and those who get the jobs may misuse the funds. Schools are not left out, as they also require money. For example, even if a student has low marks, but they have enough money, they can enrolled in a national school. Unfortunately, a student who had high marks and nothing to bride with is left out.

Kenya has developed into Mr. and Mrs. Corruption. What can we do to end corruption? Corruption will never end in our society, but our efforts must restrict corruption and protect as much as possible the poor and the weak in our society. In the end, corruption costs are paid by the customer and tax payer. It is difficult to understand why we fight the grand corruption, if we fail to fight the small examples.

Since corruption is a hidden phenomenon in the society it is difficult for us discuss it. This makes it difficult to establish how wide and deep corruption penetrates our society and social life. Worldwide we have heard of politicians and public officials who accept bribes to enrich themselves privately, at the expense of common citizens. This may be the expense of employees, consumers, producers, renters and tenants. Together we can fight corruption.
