Meet the Daraja Graduates!

On September 17th, we celebrated the Class of 2020 as they officially graduated from Daraja! Since arriving in 2017, each young woman in the Class of 2020 has poured their hearts and minds into studying and learning. And, they share aspirations to attend university and enter competitive career fields such as electrical engineering, tourism management, or medicine.

Student Selection & New Form 1’s

This year, out of 412 applicants, approximately 150 girls were selected to interview for a spot at Daraja. Over multiple weeks, Daraja’s founder, Jason Doherty, Daraja’s business manager, Helen Ngunjiri, Daraja’s head of school, Victoria Gichuhi, and a few other rotating team members, traveled across Kenya to meet, listen, and understand the Daraja candidates’ stories: to hear firsthand why they deserve to have a chance at a lifetime of learning.

Ready For The Future

Earlier in April, the Daraja Form 4s finished their KCSE. For Kenyan students, this examination is the entrance to university. Exam results were released yesterday! Drumroll, please!
